More Than Skincare. This One Is Personal.
Before Flawcy was a brand, it was personal.
I’m Tai, founder of Flawcy Complexions, and when I look at what I’ve built today, I know it came from more than a love for skincare. It came from life, growth, faith, and learning how important it is to choose yourself, too.
For a long time, I was used to showing up for everyone else.
Being a mother. Taking care of responsibilities. Working. Pushing through whatever life put in front of me. Like so many women, I learned how to keep going—even during seasons when I wasn’t giving myself the same care I gave everyone around me.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I needed to pour some of that love back into myself.
And strangely enough, creating became part of how I did that.
It Started in My Kitchen
There was no big beauty lab or perfect business plan in the beginning.
It was me in my kitchen with oils, butters, herbs, botanicals, a lot of curiosity—and probably more containers than I needed. 😂
I started learning.
I researched ingredients. I experimented with different combinations. I paid attention to textures, how products felt on the skin, and what I wanted my own skincare routine to feel like.
The more I created, the more interested I became.
But I also started thinking about something bigger.
I knew what it was like to look at my own skin and notice the things I wanted to improve. Uneven-looking tone. Dark spots. Dryness. Texture. Changes that come with life and getting older.
But I didn't want skincare to become another reason for women to feel like something was wrong with them.
I wanted it to feel like care.
That difference became important to me.
Then Came Flawcy
The name Flawcy says so much about what I believe.
None of us are flawless.
And we're not supposed to be.
Our skin has texture. Our bodies change. We age. We go through things. We have good days, hard days, confident days, and days when we're still trying to find our way back to ourselves.
I wanted to create a brand that could acknowledge all of that without telling women they needed to become somebody else.
You can want to improve your skin and still love the skin you're in.
You can work on yourself without believing you're broken.
You can evolve without rejecting the woman you were before.
And you can choose yourself without feeling guilty about it.
That is Flawcy.
Building Something of My Own
Turning something I was creating in my kitchen into an actual business didn't happen overnight.
There has been a lot of learning along the way.
Formulas that needed to be changed. Packaging I've changed my mind about. Labels, websites, content, markets, late nights, mistakes, wins, and plenty of moments where I had to figure things out as I went.
That's part of my story too.
Flawcy wasn't created from everything being perfectly lined up.
It was built while I was still growing.
And I think that's one of the reasons this brand means so much to me.
Every time I see someone use a product I created, place an order, come back for something they loved, or tell me how a product made them feel, I'm reminded that the little idea I started with became real.
The Woman Flawcy Is For
When I think about the woman I'm creating for, I don't picture perfection.
I picture a real woman.
A woman who has lived.
A woman who has responsibilities and dreams.
A woman who may have spent years taking care of everybody else.
A woman who is healing, building, changing, starting over, leveling up, or simply trying to become more intentional about taking care of herself.
Maybe she's still figuring some things out.
I know that woman because I've been that woman.
In many ways, I still am.
And that's why Flawcy will always be bigger to me than what's inside a bottle or jar.
The Glow Means Something Different Now
Today, when I talk about glowing, I'm not only talking about skin.
I'm talking about confidence.
Growth.
Peace.
Faith.
Taking care of yourself.
Giving yourself permission to evolve.
And remembering who you are underneath everything life has required you to be.
I'm still building Flawcy. I'm still learning. I'm still evolving.
And I'm allowing you to see more of that journey now, because I've realized that sometimes sharing our stories reminds another woman that she isn't alone in hers.
So when you see Flawcy, I hope you see more than skincare.
I hope you're reminded that you don't have to wait until everything is perfect to show up for yourself.
You don't have to become flawless.
You just have to keep becoming you.
Not perfect. Just Flawcy.™
With love,
Tai
